RELEVANT SCIENTIFIC TECHNIQUES AND SKILLS ACQUIRED

   


Large fieldwork experience : cartography, cores sampling, microtectonic and structural studies.
Fieldworks in Corbières-Minervois transfer zone (France) - 9 weeks - ; in Sivas basin (east-central Turkey) in collaboration with the University of Sivas - 3 weeks - ; in Apsheron peninsula (Azerbaijan) in collaboration with BP – 3 weeks -.

Processing of structural data : balanced cross-section construction, microtectonic data inversion, balanced cross-sections construction, and kinematic modelling.

Laboratory measurements : gas permeability, water and mercury injection porosity, acoustic P-waves anisotropy, anisotropy of magnetic susceptibility (ASM) on AGICO Kappabridge KLY-3S susceptibility bridge, paleomagnetic measurements on SQUID or 2G cryogenic magnetometers, anisotropy of anhysteretic remanent magnetization (AARM) on JR-5 spinner magnetometer.

Thin section observations : Autonomous on scanning electron microscope, transmission microscopy, image acquisition and image analysis with Aphelion and NIH softwares.

Others : Programming in Pascal and in Fortran, smattering of C language ; use of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, Macromedia Dreamweaver et Fireworks, Microsoft office, Latex…
